I came up with Simple Sammy because it makes the topic of project management a tad less serious. ‘I’, that’s me, Jaap le Poole. I’ve been interested in simplicity for years, and I’ve managed a variety of projects.

Over time, I’ve learned that in projects, things will have gotten complicated well before they veer off course, get delayed or become more expensive. If I avoided things getting complicated, I kept the project on course. Simple Sammy is my way of sharing patterns I’ve learned work in project management.

These patterns often times come down to keeping things simple. In many ways they’re inspired by methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Lean and Prince2. But these have themselves become complicated, with thick manuals and certificates.

I want to help you cut through the clutter and endless detailed documentation the methodologies have often become, and give simple tips that refer back to a few basic principles.
